April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July, started taking guitar and piano lessons at age seven. She was interested in songwriting was awakened. In April, when she was 12 years old She composed her debut single, Different. When she was 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing songs and honed her musicianship ability. Then she began to take trips to write with her father, who lived in NY in New York and LA. April also began to include other related topics for some of her friends dealing in the area of peer pressure disabilities and even teen suicide in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned brand of clean and natural beauty Ilia. Her disability is a part of her identity, but it is not the whole picture. The account on Instagram of Lockhart doesn't deny the fact that she has a disability. However, it doesn't make it a point to emphasize it. The profile is a statement. that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and that we're much more than our physical selves. Lockhart in a video message from Nashville home, says that I don't wish for my physical appearance to define my character. I am far more than just my physical self. My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I go about my regular daily life, and come up with my own solutions to issues. Because it's my identity and something worthy of discussion. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart is a true inspiration for this aspect. However, she admits to going through periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance as well as wearing clothes with arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wants and posts pictures on Facebook with pride. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a destination. This is, however, typical for people who has insecurities. I believe that it's really essential to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
