She was born March 29th 1985 in Roswell New Mexican. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico to Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is an American in citizenship. Since the age of a child, she's had a keen determination to be involved in sports. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she was 15 years old. Gerina was a graduate of Goddard High School. While she was in high school, she took home at the New Mexico state golf tournament. Also, she was a volleyball player and competed on the level of state. She attended the University of Texas in 2003. In her final year, she won every tournament she entered. In her time at college she was awarded an award called the Conference USA Player of The Award and The UTEP Female Sport Athlete Award.
